摘要

The cation distribution in Cu-substituted braunites synthesized by solid-state reaction has been determined by a combined neutron and X-ray Reetiveld reflinements. The final structural parameters indicate that in addition to the eight-fold coordinated M~(2+) site, Cu occupies also one of the three Mn~(3+) octahedral sitres which has the largest polyhedral distortion.
