This paper is concerned with the applicability of polarization diversity with switch and stay combining to indoor communication systems [1][3] in order to reduce the effect of the excessively deep fades that affect the signal envelope. Measurements made at 900 MHz in a large room and a long corridorare reported. It is generally accepted that for coefficient correlation ρ ≤ 0.7 an improvement in the received signal can be achieved using a two-branch diversity sytem; in our case ρ was equal to 0.52 for the room and 0.61 for the corridor.
