A novel square-wave converter with bidirectional power flow

摘要

A novel ZVS phase-shift controlled bidirectional DC-DC convertoris proposed. It possesses the conventional features of phase-shiftedconvertors, including constant switching frequency, zero-voltageswitching (ZVS) and voltage control by phase-shift. However, the newconvertor has been improved by developing a bi-directional power flowcapability and applying synchronous rectification, hence the on-statevoltage drop of the active devices are small. Therefore it isrecommended for use in an electric vehicle (EV). In this paper, theprinciple of circuit operation of the proposed convertor was describedin detail with mathematical calculations, and the experimental resultswere also given to verify the concept
