Liquid Antistripping Additives Provide Simlar Resistance, as Hydrated Lime, to Moisture-Induced Damage in Asphalt Mixtures

The asphalt industry have used hydrated lime as an antistripping agent in Hot Mix Asphalts (HMA) for years. Due to health concerns, as well as method of application and cost, some HMA producers are not comfortable with the use of hydrated lime. Liquid antistripping agents became a viable alternative to hydrated lime because of its easy application, uniformity, low cost, and safety.
