Surface reconstruction directly from binocular stereo images bymultiscale-multistage regularization

摘要

This paper describes a method of surface reconstruction fromstereo images. The problem addressed is formulated as the minimizationof an energy functional that integrates a similarity term and asmoothness term. The minimization reduces to solving a system ofnonlinear equations. A disparity map is obtained by solving the systemof equations through scale hierarchy. The proposed method can compute adense disparity map directly from stereo images preservingdiscontinuities
