An image analysis based method to evaluate gravure paper quality

A method has been developed to find the so-called missing dots ina heliotest strip. Heliotest is a test print method which is used todetermine the quality of gravure print paper. The method developed isbased on image processing and supervised learning, requiring a 386-basedMS/DOS computer, a commercial image processing board and software, acommercial co-ordinate table, a CCD camera, and lighting equipment. Themethod is now at the prototype stage
