The performance of an all-fiber ratiometric wavelength measurement system is compared for the case of two edge filtersand the case of one edge filter. The two fiber edge filters are used with overlapping and opposite slope spectralresponses, a so called "X-type spectral response", each based on singlemode-multimode-singlemode (SMS) fiberstructures. Noise and polarization dependent loss (PDL) are the two parameters that determine the resolution and anaccuracy of the system. It is demonstrated that the use of two SMS edge filters for a ratiometric wavelengthmeasurement system can increase the resolution and the accuracy when compared with a system using only one edgefilter.
