An expert system for the automatic classification and descriptionof zooplanktons from monocular images

摘要

An automatic system to recognize the biological zooplanktons frommonocular images is presented. It has two cooperating subsystems: amodular set of algorithm describing the complex shapes and aclassification expert system. The results are shown for variousexamples. The methodology which is developed is independent of theapplication and is thus a general tool for building complex automaticsystems
