In water treatment, a bubble column can be used to transfer ozone from a gazeous to a liquid phase. This ozonation tower is made up with different tanks in series in wich both fluids flow alternately in co and/or counter current. The efficiency of such a reactor is related to the ozone transfer efficiency, quality of wate,r kinetics at rate constants of the reaction and the contact time between microorganisms, oxydable compounds nad ozone. This last parameters is quantified by the residence time distribution (RTD) mesurements.
