The analysis of variance was conducted in order to evalaute the dependence of rate of trihalomethane (THM) precursors removal upon various treatment process factors. Three levels each of five factors of point of ozonation, ozone contact time, water temeprature. granular activated carbon (GAC) bed depth and ozone dosage were selected as test variables. A total of 27 test runs were carried out using various combinations of these variables. Of the five factors tested, three factors of GAC bed depth, water temeprature and point of ozonation exceted significant influences upon the removal of THM precursors.
