ECG-based selection of angiographic images using DICOM facilities

Presents a system that selects quasi-automatically the usefulimages of both coronaries out of a complete angiographic recordingsession. The useful images are those having a satisfying contrast-agentdistribution, corresponding with the same deformations caused by thecontractions of the heart muscle, and being recorded from differentviewpoints. Using the authors' system called `AngioView', cardiologistsno longer need to browse manually through the huge number of imageswhile making a diagnosis. Consequently, diagnosing becomes faster andeasier. As the selection became possible using the properties of DICOMdata archival, AngioView demonstrates some of the advantages that can beobtained using DICOM
