A METHOD OF CALCULATING THE PHASE CONTENTS AND PHASE CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS IN NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL ROCKS

An approach is proposed to calculate the phase contens and the phase chemical compositions of the rocks containing crystalline and amorphous phases, with the corresponding Fortran computer program designed. Through coaparing the calculating results with the measured ones in the literature, it is shown that all components can be well predicted except some less containing components. The successful application of this method greatly depends on accuracy of x-ray diffraction intensity measurements.
