TECHNO-ECONOMIC EVALUATION ON THE RESOURCES AND DEPOSITS OF BORON IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF NORTH-EAST CHINA

China is the first country in whose natural borax was found and used. But the output of boron in China was low and boron was mainly imported from abroad before. In 1956, borax was successfully taken from local ascharite in Liaoning Province, our large-scale geological prospecting in planned way in the southern part in Northeast China, found out a number of large or medium scaled boron deposits, and set up five state-owned mines. As a result, the foundation of China modern boron industry has been laid, and the situation depending on importation has been changed.
