THE TERMINAL-ADAPTOR: AN APPROACH TO A UNIFORM ERGONOMIC TERMINAL USER INTERFACE IN OPEN NETWORKS

摘要

Due to the rapid technological development a growing number of value added services are beeing provided to an increasing number of users.The acceptance and usefulness of public and private services are influenced essentially by the end-users interface,which at present is a terminal interface at the moment.The user interface is expected to be uniform and ergonomic.The contradictory goal of a uniform terminal user interface and high flexibility in the supported services can be attained by a model of a 'universal terminal adapter',which serves as an intelligent interface converter between the terminal user and the services.
