EVALUATION OF MULTIACCESS PROTOCOLS FOR PACKET VOICE COMMUNICATIONS IN LOCAL AREA NETWORKS

摘要

This paper presents prelieinary results of a simulation study being carried out with the aim of investigating and comparing behaviour and performance of ring and bus LANs under different loads of purely voice traffic.On this basis the behaviour of ring networks seems generally better while,as for ring access protocols,the "register insertion" comes out as the most suitable technique fur voice applications.
