TECHNICAL PARAMETERS FOR PLANNING THE FIXED-SATELLITE SERVICE

In 1979 the World Administrative Radio Conference identified the urgent need to study the use of the geostationary-satellite orbit and the planning of the space services utilizing it. The CCIR has been charged with carrying out studies to provide technical information for WARC ORB 88. The following text presents an overview on technical parameters for planning the fixed-satellite service contained in the CCIR Documentation (CCIR Volumes Ⅳ and Ⅳ/Ⅸ) and in the Report of the CCIR to WARC ORB 88. The information refers to three categories of frequency bands, namely: alloted bands, improved procedures bands and unplanned bands.
