Ozone for Potable Water Tretment at Hudiksvall, Sweden

At Forsa. Hudiksvall there is a plant for tretment of surface water with ozone and subsequent filtration in slow sand filters. At an ozone dose of 2 g/m~3 a colour reduction from 25 mg/l Pt to 17 mg/l Pt is obtained in the ozone treatment. After the subsequent filtration i nthe slow sand filters a reductio down to 10 mg/l Pt is reached. The corresponding values for hte chemical oxygen demand are from 6 to 5 and 4 mg/l respectively.
