A double pass multichannel far-infrared interferometer (Λo = 119 μm) has been employed to measure electron density profile on the Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR). This system provided valuable density information during a variety of plasma experiments. Density profile evolution during an adiabatic compression experiment was obtained and compared with TVTS results. Anomalous edge density behavior in “Marfe” discharges was observed. Also, density profile variation during solid pellet injection experiments has revealed several interesting features, such as peaked and hollow profiles.
