In routine or experimental battery testing and development, it is often necessary to examine several cell parameters simultaneously and to record the events as they occur. Microprocessor-based data acquisition systems, such as the various computer controlled Recorders, can be used to calculate important characteristics of a battery (capacity, power, energy efficiency) from charge and discharge curves. In addition to examining multiple parameters for a particular cell, a single parameter such as cell voltage can be monitored for several different cells simultaneously. The "Intelligent" Recorder can be used in this fashion to test nickel-hydrogen, nickel-cadmium, lead-acid, carbon-zinc, alkaline, or any other battery system of interest.
