Bromate formation in advanced oxidation processes (H_2O_2/O_3) has been investigated in four water tretment plants. Bromide concentratiosn before ozoantion were in the range of 35-130 #mu#g/L. Bromate after ozonation and advanced oxidation varied in the range < 2 - 42 #mu#g/L. In advanced oxidation higher bromate concentrations were found relative to the process where ozone was applied alone if an ozone residual concentratio nwas maintained and lower concentratiosn were found if the ozone dose was kept constant while increasing the H_2O_2 dose.
