The spatially dispersive FDTD model has been developed for the modelling of sub-wavelength lenses formed by the wire medium. The auxiliary differential equation method has been used in order to include both the spatial and frequency dispersion effects in the wire media modelling. To the authors'' knowledge, this is the first time when the spatial dispersion is taken into account in the FDTD modelling of wire media. The simulation results show that even at low plasma frequency (6.0 GHz) and with small size of the wire media lens (lambda), the image and the source show excellent agreement
