This paper proposes two new methods to improve the performance of a synchronous-rectifier forward converter. A traditional synchronous-rectifier converter appears a reverse current while the converter is turned off. This reverse current causes voltage spikes which may damage the power devices. To reduce the voltage spikes, this paper proposes two different methods to improve the phenomenon. The detailed theoretical analysis is discussed here. In addition, several experimental results are provided to validate the correctness and feasibility of the theoretical analysis.
