摘要

The Altamaha River Watershed is the seventh largest watershed on the eastern seaboard. It flows over 250 miles from its headwaters in the cities of Atlanta and Athens draining nearly one quarter of Georgia's landmass to provide one sixth of the South Atlantic Bight's freshwater compliment. This watershed brings nutrients, freshwater and unfortunately pollutants to the Atlantic Ocean. This same water makes its way offshore to bathe the fragile reef system of NOAA's Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary that sits some 20 miles offshore at a depth of 70 feet. This program takes a look at the video and educational activities developed on this watershed and how it affects Gray's Reef. Participants will receive an educational module.
