Summary form only given. The combined application of MIMO and OFDM achieves high capacity and spectral efficiency. However, similar to SISO-OFDM, MIMO-OFDM suffers significant performance degradation due to the presence of phase noise. Although many methods have been developed to correct phase noise, they have not been extended to MlMO cases. In this paper, we proposed a new pilot aided MMSE (minimum mean square error)-based phase noise mitigation method which efficiently reduces the effect of phase noise for the general M/spl tau//spl beta//spl psi/ M/spl rho/ scenario. Moreover, an exact expression for the minimum estimation error in such mitigation scheme is also included, which can be used to obtain several key parameters of the system when it faces specific requirement.
