Estimating azimuth and elevation angles when mutual coupling is significant direction finding

摘要

The undesirable effects of mutual coupling in the context of direction finding, and a means of mitigating them, are shown in this paper. The arriving rays are received at the elements of a cross array. These elements consist of a half-wavelength crossed dipoles. Errors introduced by mutual coupling are diminished by adding dummy elements to the original cross array.
