A capacitively loaded planar inverted-F antenna is studied. The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is used to model the antenna. It is found that the capacitive load reduces the resonance length from /spl lambda//4 to /spl lambda//8. Using a capacitive feed, a match at 50 /spl Omega/ is obtained with a 5% bandwidth. Experimental verification is also provided.
