The conversion of a medical equipment manufacturer's factory created an internal management impasse concerning the selection of the most appropriate factory design. Simulated comparison of competing designs utilizing PC based simulation software was used for management decision comparison. The study focuses on the objective comparison of measurement criteria. The simulations were designed to quantitatively isolate each of the measurement criteria.
