Comparison between different configurations of hybrid Raman/erbium-doped fiber amplifiers

A comprehensive theoretical study on the optimal configuration of hybrid fiber amplifiers is carried out yielding a closed form analysis. The maximum reachable distance is plotted against the span length and nonlinear weight, given a target OSNR.
