Most efforts to improve the diagnostic performance of military aircraft systems/subsystems and off-aircraft maintenance have focused mainly on avionics systems/subsystems. From that effort a process (Integrated Diagnostics) has evolved to address some of the major contributors to poor diagnostic performance and has been implemented at The Boeing Company with demonstrated success. Even though the tools used were developed based on avionics, the tools should benefit non-avionics systems. This paper documents the results of applying those tools to a fighter aircraft hydraulic system.
