Total re-vamp of Cimento Tupi's clinker production line at the Pedra do Sino plant

The paper describes the original 1600 t/day plant as built in 1976, its modification in 1981, and the complete re-vamping and modernization project in 1992-1993, including five years of operating results and experience since then. It reports why the original preheater was replaced, the second branch modified, the precalciner added, the kiln shell replaced and the cooler re-designed. It further explains how this entire project was arranged for the kiln shut-down time of only 85 days.
