Advances in using simulation to enhance military training

This paper provides a high-level overview of current applications of simulation in support of military training. Several examples are cited and described to give at least the 'flavor' of simulation applications in military training. The following topics are addressed: factors influencing the use of simulation in military training; simulation technology and capabilities; small unit and crew level applications of simulation for training; larger unit level applications of simulation for training; and large-scale and joint applications of simulation for training.
