Distributed power supply systems (DPS) are an attractive solution to meet the requirements demanded from a power supply. However, it has some drawbacks which must be overcome. An integrated battery charger/discharger topology is a good solution in order to improve the structures already existent. The goal is increase the maximum output power of an integrated battery charger/discharger because the output power capability is limited in this topology by the switch current stress. This paper address these topics in order to overcome the limitation mentioned above. In this paper new alternatives are evaluated, which maintain the characteristics of power factor correction and battery galvanic isolation in a simple structure. It has a higher efficiency than solutions previously developed.
