This paper analyzes the scattering characteristics of an infinite periodic frequency selective surface (FSS) with oblique incidence using the method of lines. In order to calculate the impedance elements by the fast Fourier transform (FFT) for an arbitrary incidence, the Helmholtz equation for an infinite periodic structure is transformed to a new one. The numerical examples show that the new method is efficient. A comparision of the CPU time between the two methods shows that the method of lines with FFT (MoL-FFT) is more powerful than the conventional one.
