The authors describe a computerized system for graphic reporting of angiographic data in cardiac catheterization unit, especially dedicated to graphic representation of angiographic data. Alphanumeric data are recorded on line during diagnostic procedures into a clinical database, built with an Xbase language and working on a local area network system. Graphic representations of left ventricular wall motion and of coronary artery anatomy are automatically obtained from alphanumeric data, based on dedicated procedures. Input of data and automatic reporting are fully integrated, work on line with the angiographic examinations and are completely adaptable to a single patient's characteristics by means of a "Windows-like" graphic processor. The memory amount necessary for each patient consists of a few kbytes (ranging from 3 to 14). A complete reporting of the examination can be obtained on line with its execution and network sharing greatly enhancing the benefits of these procedures. It is concluded that graphic reporting is a user-friendly, useful, memory sparing, low cost presentation method for obtaining significant data from a cardiac catheterization unit, mainly dedicated to non-specialized cardiological operators.
