A suitable Green's function is chosen for quasi-static analysis of shielded planar transmission lines by the boundary element method. This Green's function satisfies the forced boundary conditions, in a rectangular region. In this way, the integral path can be taken along the line where the strip is located, and the integral equation is simplified. The proposed method is useful for characterizing multilayered structures. Finite metallization thickness can also be treated. The calculated results are shown; good agreement is found with the published literature.
