The authors present an analysis of the reflector of a low-frequency anechoic chamber in two dimensions using the FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) method. A total field formulation is used for determination of the quiet zone fields of the low-frequency reflector. Two source excitations are examined. An analytic function is defined as the excitation source for the first example and an application of the theorem reciprocity yields the excitation source for the second example. The 2-D-FDTD results are compared with results from a 3-D corrected physical optics calculation and agreement is obtained.
