The TickIT initiative a purchaser's perspective (software certification)

TickIT is a software certification scheme for ensuring software quality, set up by the UK government. The author describes the MOD (Ministry of Defence) interest in this initiative. Past efforts by the MOD for acquiring quality software are outlined and the importance of this for military applications is emphasised.
