Over the past few years,a laminar-flow,isolated-droplet ocmbustion facility ahs ben used to evlauate the fundamental ocmbustion porperties of biomass pyrolysis oils.THis work has foucsed on hcaracteirzing oils produced fro various feedstocks with a small scale,fast-ablatie vortex reactor coupled with varuus hot-gas filtration techniques.Recently,combustion of an oak oil produced n a large scale,entrained fluidized bed has bene characterized.this oil exhibits microexplosions very early in the combustio process,presuably as a consequence of the signifcna tloading of small char particles in the oil.
