Titanium and its alloys are frequently used in many sectors, including the health carernsector, where they outperform other materials. From the biocompatibility viewpoint, thernpreferred condition of these materials is ultrafine or nanostructured state. Very fine-grained stockrncan be produced on industrial scale in CONFORM equipment, which is based on continuousrnECAP process (Equal Channel Angular Pressing). This paper gives a description of this formingrnprocess and of its application in production of feedstock for dental implants. CP-titanium wasrnused for the present experimental programme. The factors explored in process trials included thernimpact of the shape of the exit chamber and of the temperatures at key locations within thernCONFORM process on the resulting microstructure of titanium. Subsequent modifications werernbased on results of numerical simulation of the process in DEFORM software. The actual flow ofrnmaterial was compared with that described by the simulation.
