The growing applications of magnesium die castings in automotive and electronic industries present primary producers and die casters with the task of improving the metalllurgical quality of magnesium alloy ingots and die cast components. The present paper reviews the regularities of phase transformations that take place during solidification process of commercial AZ. AM and AS magnesium alloy ingots and die catings.
