A Novel Machining Process of a New-type Cylindrical Gear

摘要

With the development of Technology,the curvilinear cylindrical gears could have substituted the double-helical gears.A new method using a general-purpose hob-cutter was proposed.The generation mechanism of this gear using CNC bobbing machine was investigated.Trial cutting experiments were performed to prove the validity of the proposed method.Experimental results show that,high quality tooth surfaces with tooth-form accuracy at JIS 4 grade were obtained.And the machining efficiency was considerably high.
