Gas Conditioning refers to the steps taken to prepare natural gas for direct use, transportation, sales or further processing. Natural gas can be produced from "gas only" reservoirs or is also often co-produced with crude oil or condensate. Whatever the source, unconditioned natural gas always contains water, which is carried from the reservoir and remains after initial separation, or is introduced from other conditioning process steps such as sweetening. Dealing with this water vapor in natural gas is the topic of the 2012 Fundamentals Session. Dehydration by absorption using glycols was the focus of the 2008 Fundamentals Session. This session will focus primarily on dehydration by adsorption using molecular sieves.
