During the period 2008-2011 a Joint Industry Project was carried out with partners Total, Statoil, ConocoPhillips and ProSep Inc. for performance verification of the ProDry co-current contactor used for moderate gas dehydration (moderate water dew point reduction). The main advantage of the ProDry contactor technology compared to conventional technology is reduced weight and space requirement, especially for high-pressure applications. In order to explore and verify the potential of the ProDry contactor for gas dehydration, a comprehensive technology qualification program was carried out comprising tests at moderate pressure 11 barg at the ProSep Test Facility in Norway as well as at pilot testing at elevated pressures, 50-70 barg with natural gas, at Total's gas processing facility (TIGF) in Lussagnet, France. The results show close-to-equilibrium H_2O (vap) concentration for a broad range of process conditions.
