摘要

Shuibua hydropower is located in the middle of the Qingjiang River, the city of Enshi in Hubei province. With the height of 233 metres, it is the highest concrete faced rockfill dam (CFRD) in the world. The main structures consist of concrete-faced rockfill dam, left spillways, right underground powerhouse and emptying tunnel.The energy dissipation of Shuibua hydro project is bucket type energy dissipater. It extremely impacts on the washout area of downstream river bed and the special geological condition of river bank such as ancient landside body of DaYaTuo due to the 171 m falling water from the flood discharge.Scour prevention walls are efficent measures to protect the energy dissipation area from erosion by high velocity flood. In addition, it may ensure the safety of the ancient landside body of DaYaTuo. Also, it may improve long time behaviors of the whole CFRD project.The construction technology of scour prevention wall is quite complex and difficult in building this deepest scour prevention wall in the world. The details of the special construction methods including seepage protection during construction are introduced in this paper.
