In this presentation we provide a selection and comparison of ULF wave events that have been studied using magnetic field data from the CHAMP and Swarm low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite missions. The low orbits are rather special for ULF wave studies, being roughly similar distances above the ionosphere as ground stations are below the ionosphere. This provides a unique opportunity to study ULF waves and the effects of the ionosphere on their propagation.rnThe high quality magnetic field measurements have enabled clearly resolved observations of Pc3 and Pi2 pulsations at low and middle latitudes. Comparative studies of these pulsation types observed at LEO above the ionosphere and at ground stations below the ionosphere facilitated studies of the wave nature and structure of these pulsations.
