A Proposed MC-DS-CDMA Receiver for Narrowband Interference Cancellation

In this paper, a MC-DS-CDMA receiver is proposed to mitigate the effect of narrow band interference (NBI). In the proposed receiver, the received signal is down converted using a coherent subcarriers reference as the conventional receiver. Then, the outputs of the subcarrier branches are combined using a maximum ratio combiner (MRC). A suppression filter is employed at the output of the MRC after reducing the number of branches to one. The performance of the proposed receiver is evaluated analytically and compared with the conventional one in presence of NBI. The NBI is modeled as a multi-binary phase modulated signals that exist over all the subcarriers of the MC system which is considered as the worst case scenario. The results show that the proposed receiver has a better performance and a simpler hardware structure than the conventional receiver.
