Applications of lasers in laparoscopic cholecystectomy: technical considerations and future directions

Abstract: Interest in lasers has increased exponentially due tothe meteoric growth of laparoscopic cholecystectomy.This paper reviews the laser technologies available forlaparoscopic use. The relative merits and liabilitiesfor each wavelength and delivery system are discussed.Considerations for future developments of thesetechnologies are provided.!
