Abstract: ults of solving the self-matching scattering problem of a p-polarized Gaussian beam on a diffraction grating of finite length near surface electro-magnetic wave excitation resonances are presented. The role of dismatching between surface electromagnetic wave lines on the grating and a plane surface, an incident beam plane-wave spectrum and a Fraunhofer factor of grating in finite size effects is defined. !7
