Application of dynamic gratings to broad spectral band beam steering

Abstract: In this paper we consider some of the implications ofsteering broad spectral band radiation using dynamicgratings. The similarities and differences indispersion between dynamic gratings formed withelectro-optic phase arrays and with microlens arraysare highlighted. Optical design considerations arepresented that limit the dispersion in the image.System designs that use refractive, diffractive, andcombinations of refractive and diffractive componentsto partially correct for the dispersion are analyzed.!12
