Limit equilibrium and finite element analysis-A perspective of recent advances

摘要

This paper gives a general review of the recent advances in the applications of limit equilibrium(LEM) and Finite Element Methods (FEM) for slope stability analysis. Accuracies of various LEM includingSarma's have been reviewed. Special attentions have been given to the strength reduction finite element methodregarding its applicability,criteria for failure indications,and the treatment for modulus,Poisson ratio anddilation angles.
